Utah approves AI system to write acne prescriptions directly

Utah has approved Nolla Health's AI system to scan faces and autonomously write acne prescriptions. The pilot starts with physician oversight for the first 100 patients, then transitions to reviewing samples of at least 10% monthly. The service costs $4.99 per month for residents 18 and older with mild-to-moderate acne.

After that, physicians review a sample of at least 10% of prescriptions every month, plus every case involving an escalation or side effect.
