Syrian President: Economy expected to reach $50 billion in 2026
Syrian President Ahmad Al Sharaa announced the economy is recovering, projected to reach $50 billion in 2026, $60 billion by 2027, and $200 billion within a decade if international conditions remain stable. The economy grew from $20 billion in 2024 to $32 billion in 2025. He credited lifting sanctions since 1979 and mediation by Saudi Arabia and Türkiye as key turning points.
