BCCI take part in the first Bahrain-Thailand virtual business matching event

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in a hybrid-virtual business matching event that embraced Bahraini business owners and their Thai counterparts.

The event, which was held via VIXMA platform, offered business owners from Thailand and Bahrain the opportunity to mull business and partnership prospects in a number of sectors, namely: Organic food, beauty, hotel supply, and spa & wellness.

Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber Mr. Shaker Al Shater delivered a keynote during the opening of the event. He voiced pride in the deep-rooted relation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand, and the extensive cooperation at all levels, with 12 agreements and 17 memorandum of agreements signed between both sides.

Mr. Al Shater shed light on the economic challenges that came as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown and containment measures. He stressed on the need to capitalize on technological advancements and innovation.

Mr. Al Shater expressed the keenness of the private sector in Bahrain on reinforcing liaison with its Thai counterpart, and the readiness of the Bahrain Chamber to facilitate and support all endeavors that aim at invigorating business between both sides.

Concluding his keynote, Mr. Al Shater called Thai business community to explore business and investment opportunities in Bahrain, while highlighting Bahrain’s top rank in economic freedom allowing 100% foreign ownership in some business activities, its strategic location giving access to the 1.5 trillion dollars GCC market, its pioneering standing as a financial hub, and its advanced transportation and telecommunications infrastructure.

Similarly, Bahrain’s ambassador to Thailand H.E. Ahmed Abdulla Al Hajri, expressed pride in the strong tie between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Thailand and the high-level cooperation. He also called Thai business owners to mull investment and partnership opportunities, and to benefit from the vast features offered to foreign investors. He underlined Bahrain’s favorable business legislations and laws including the updated bankruptcy law, and shed light on the ease of staring up a business in Bahrain using Sijilat platform.
