Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) latest report stated that, Bahrain’s exported national origin products value increased by 34% to BD621 million during the third quarter of 2018, from BD465million in the year earlier quarater.
According to the report, the top product imported to Bahrain during the third quarter is Aluminum oxide, with China holding the top spot for the imports and Saudi Arabia for exports. Meanwhile, the trade balance, difference between exports and imports, the value of the deficit of the trade balance reached BD679m during the quarter versus BD621m for the same quarter of the previous year with 11% of increase.
The value of imports increased by 18% as it reached BD1.417 Billion during the third quarter of 2018 versus BD1.203bn for the same quarter of the previous year, while the top ten countries account for 66% of the imports value and 34% for other countries.
Aluminium oxide emerged as the top product imported to Bahrain with BD107m, while the non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates as the second with BD64m.
Four-wheel drive cars were the third products with BD50m during the third quarter of 2018. When it comes to exported national origin products, top ten countries accounted for 81% of the exported national origin value and 19% for other countries.
As for national export products, agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the top products exported in the third quarter of 2018 with BD107m; aluminium wires were positioned second products imported with a value of BD84m; and unwrought aluminium alloys stood third place for exported products with BD53m.
In regards to the re-exported field, the value of re-exports decreased by 9% as it reached BD116m during the third quarter of 2018 versus BD128m for the same quarter of the previous year. The top ten countries account for 90% of the re-exported value and 10% for other countries. Saudi Arabia was ranked as the first country to re-export from Bahrain with BD43m, China ranked as second with BD22m and UAE as third with BD14m.
Four-wheel drive cars emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD24m, cigarettes came as second products with BD8m, and Parts for motor vehicles came as the third with BD3million.
