Jakarta, May 11 (BNA): Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), Brave 12 Championship was held here today.
Around 30 fighters from 16 countries, including Kingdom of Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Russia, Brazil, Netherlands, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Poland, America, New Zealand, Australia, Philippines, Britain and Germany, took part in the competition.
HH Shaikh Khalid took pride in the outstanding success of event, and lauded the facilities provided by Indonesia.
HH Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the constant support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for the youth and sports movement in the kingdom
He also paid tribute to the Representative of HM the King for Youth and Charity Work, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his programmes, plans and initiatives to boost sport in the kingdom, especially the Mixed Martial Arts.
HH Shaikh Khalid announced that Brave 13 will be held in Northern Ireland in order to promote the sport which was the brainchild of Bahrain.
HH Shaikh Khalid watched the 15 fights included in Brave 12, and praised the level of the fighters.
The Representative of Bahrain, KHK MMA fighter, Hosayn Ayad managed to get the first victory in the professional class after beating the Philippine fighter Jumar Pac.
Bahraini Fighter Hamza Alkoheji was defeated unexpectedly in his match against Lebanese fighter Khaled Taha.
